    Choir Ministry – non-audition group who practices weekly and provides worship music on Sunday morning and seasonal presentations.

    Solo/Ensemble Ministry – members of the worship ministry who demonstrate a giftedness can serve by participating in the solo/ensemble ministry. Currently, we have men’s, women’s, mixed adult, women’s trio, men’s quartet, a young ladies and young adult ensembles.

    Orchestral Ministry – members of this worship team practice weekly and provide musical instrumental support to the choir and weekly worship.

    Sound/Video Ministry – a variety of opportunities to serve exist within the sound/video ministry including:

    • Sound system – mixing and balancing sound through the sound system.
    • Video projection – operating the video computer/projector during the worship service, including lyrics, sermon outlines, appropriate worship videos, etc.
    • Camera operation – serving as a camera operator for recording the weekly sermon service distribution to overflow locations.
    • Video production – this team performs editing/mixing elements in preparing videos for worship. They are also active in recording events and activities for archival purposes.

    Music Library Support Team – this team works with the associate pastor of worship in maintaining the church music library. This includes cataloging, storing, retrieving, and copying music as well as maintaining an inventory of all music.

    Worship Greeter/Usher – this team serves as Summit’s first point of connection with guests/members. Their ministry includes greeting people at the facility entrances, escorting guests, distributing bulletins, taking up the offering and distribution of handouts.

    Special Event Host/Hostess – this team supports the worship ministry by assisting with set construction, removal, and other tasks associated with special events such as dramas, musical, church wide banquets, & seasonal celebrations.

    Baptismal Team – assists in preparing the worship center and related areas for baptism, the baptismal pool, and assisting baptismal candidates during baptism.

    Special Event Promotion Team – serves as Summit’s marketing group, creating event notifications and distributing them to local social news/networking outlets (radio, television, newspaper, public service, etc.

    IT Support Team – serves with staff to evaluate and maintain the church software and hardware systems, including maintenance, trouble-shooting, problem resolution, and system operating upgrading.

    Connections Teachers/Leaders – this is an ongoing commitment to lead a small group that is open and continuous. It is not a short-term commitment of a few weeks, but at least a year’s commitment.

    Discipleship Teachers/Leaders – this place of service allows people to serve in a teaching/leading role for short-term classes that cover specific topics. These classes would last from 4-8 weeks and would be offered at times other than during our Connections hour on Sunday mornings.

    “Connections” Greeters – these are greeters who would serve at the doors and Welcome Center before and during the Connections hour.

    “Parking Lot Greeters” – people who will direct traffic and help people find parking places. They would also assist anyone with a special need.


    Outreach Ministry Team

    Adult Ministry IT and Social Media Support – people who will assist the Adult ministry with IT needs and a more effective and consistent presence on Social Media.

    Women’s and Men’s Ministries – places to serve include serving as leaders and in support roles including: teaching short-term studies, missions, hospitality, retreats, and special events planning.

    Resource Room and Equipment Coordinator – someone who will organize and manage the Adult Ministry Resource Room and Audio/Video equipment.

    Adult Ministry Promotions and Publicity Design Team – people with gifts and abilities promoting, publicizing and advertising events and programs.

    Missions – over the next few years the Adult ministry at Summit will seek to develop multiple mission partnerships both national and international. There will be multiple opportunities for service on these short term mission projects.

    Hospitality and Fellowship Events – this place of service is for those people who are gifted in hosting events like Fellowship Dinners, Newcomer Dinners, Church-wide Dinners, and other such events.

    Discipleship Mentors – this place of service is for those who have a gift for developing a one-on-one mentor relationship with new believers or believers who desire to grow in their walk and commitment to the Lord.

    Sunday Morning Problem Solvers – from time to time we have issues that arise on Sunday mornings that need to be attended to. This place of service is for people who have a gift for fixing things quickly.

    Helping Hands – volunteers serve on a 4 week rotation and serve as substitute in whichever class needs a teacher.

    Welcome Desk – greet and register our guests.

    Coordinators – serve during an hour of programming and checks on each class, assists them by meeting their needs with copies, supplies, etc.

    Subs – for when teachers are out – “on call” helping hands. Also to give teachers a Sunday off that serve every week.

    Kids Bible Club Leaders – can serve long term or on a monthly rotation.

    Puppet or Drama Team Leader

    Laundry – wash Sunday mornings laundry from our nursery.


    Child Care – serve as “non-paid” workers – weekly.

    Childcare for special events – “non-paid” – per event.

    Cleaning/Facility Support -Deep cleaning, chairs, tables, baseboards, doors, etc.

    Assistance with large events such as Graduation-set-up and clean-up.

    Organizing – closets that can be organized for better use and efficiency.

    Library – volunteers to help children and give teachers a short break.

    Donations – we accept monetary donations to scholarship students experiencing hardships, craft supplies, toys and books.

    Ministry Team to young families – provide meals, cards, transportation, and encouragement to families in crisis.

    Prayer Pal Ministry – Donate gently used stuff animals to go to children in the hospital.

    Additional Leaders & Volunteers – to fill in when regular leader is out and to fill Committee Positions.

    Fundraiser Chairperson – this person finds good fundraisers and coordinates them.

    Outdoor Coordinator – this person plans outings by making reservations, setting up service projects where we camp, reserves the shuttles for the trips but is not required to go on trips.

    Treasurer – maintains the troop checking account. Pays leaders for expenses, maintains a list of dues paid and communicates that info to the leaders so that dues can be collected.

    Advancement Coordinator – retains records of Trailmen’s advancement, encourages Trailmen to advance, helps develop Trail badge presentation materials, sets up Trail badge classes to help Trailmen to advance.

    Chaplain – provides spiritual leadership for the Trailmen, provides classes for the Trailmen to enhance their spiritual growth.

    Equipment Coordinator – maintains an inventory of Troop equipment ensuring it is in working order. Recommends new equipment when needed.

    Web Master to update and maintain the troop web site.

  • Connections Classes host Homeowner Association meetings at the church several times a month from September to April each year.

    Office Volunteers – serve on a rotating basis on Friday mornings, 8:30 -12noon. Duties consist of answering phones, stuffing bulletins, and greeting visitors to the church office.

    Food Pantry Volunteers – donate food, money, gift cards or time. Help is needed with sorting and shelving of food, food distribution on Saturday mornings and prayer. We need people who would be willing to pray for the client’s needs and perhaps call them to see how things are going.

    Widow/Widower – volunteer services, visitation, etc.

    Employment Opportunities – introduce those in our church and community to potential job opportunities by praying for them and passing on job opportunities.

    Sunday Morning Shuttle Drivers – we are considering starting a new service opportunity where approved drivers would pick up and/or take home those in need of a ride to and from Sunday morning Connection Classes and Worship Gatherings and other Summit events.

    Facilities/Grounds – seeking people with knowledge and skill of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry and technology. People who are willing to “tidy up” carpets, walls, windows, kitchens, lawn and landscape duties, painting and decorating the church with pictures and furniture. Also investigating products and services and compiling the information.
